Signal faults on one of the UK's busiest train routes resulted in passengers being delayed by almost 2,000 hours in a year.
A BBC Freedom of Information request found services between Reading and Paddington experienced 307 signal faults between 2016 and 2017.
This figure was up by 20% on the previous year, Network Rail revealed. Network Rail said it was investing "huge sums of money" to reduce the problems.
The company added that the faults occurred for a "variety of reasons".
A spokesman for Great Western Railway, which operates the route, said the recurring signal faults were "frustrating".
£6.5 million has been spent on replacing 'unreliable' bin lorries in South Oxfordshire.
South Oxfordshire District Council have apologised for disruption to thousands of household collections, caused by the current fleet breaking down.
The new trucks will replace the old ones in the in the autumn.
The district council and contractor Biffa say they will draft in extra vehicles and call on the crews to work extra hours in the mean time.

Thames Valley Police are looking for a couple who stole a 97-year-old woman's handbag in Bicester.
The incident happened on Thursday in Manors Field Road at about 1.15pm.
The female offender distracted the victim before she and the male offender left the scene.
Shortly afterwards, the victim realised that her handbag was missing.
It was later found in Priory Road but an amount of cash had been taken from it.
Both offenders are described as aged between 40 and 50 and of Eastern European origin.
A man has appeared in court charged with murder after a 22-year-old was stabbed to death in Eastleigh.
Alex Woods was found with stab wounds on Scott Road in the town on Thursday.
Andi Leigh Edwards, 36, appeared before Southampton magistrates and was remanded in custody to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday.
Two new all-terrain wheelchairs have been introduced to improve accessibility at Lyme Regis beach.
The town council spent £6,000 on the equipment to ensure disabled people had the opportunity to enjoy the sea and sand at the Dorset resort.
Seven-year-old Oli Apps, from Uplyme, who uses a specialist wheelchair, had the opportunity to take one onto the beach and to the water’s edge for the first time.
Mum Kelly Apps said: “The wheelchair will make the beach much more accessible and allow us to be a normal family.
“I love coming to the beach but it’s not been fun in recent years because of the limitations.
“The wheelchair will give Oli the opportunity to have an experience that an able-bodied person can have.”
The chairman of the Hampshire Police Federation has criticised a new 10-page form officers have to fill out every time they use any kind of force.
Since April this year officers have had to record a series of details every time they use handcuffs, CS spray or draw a baton.
John Apter said filling out the 10-page form had proved to be like "writing an exam essay".
The Home Office insisted the rules brought "unprecedented transparency" to policing.

A new long-term rehabilitation service for children recovering from brain and spinal tumours is being launched by a charity.
Pictures taken by firefighters show the extent of the fire at the garage in Hythe earlier this morning.
At its height more that 50 firefighters fought the blaze at Prospect Place near the pier which broke out shortly after 05:30 BST.
The service said its fire investigation team were expected to inspect the site later.

A moving observatory art studio has arrived at its latest location - the Jurassic Coast.
The Observatory which forms two structures, an artist's workspace and a workshop, which is open to the public has been relocated from Buckler's Hard to its new home at Burton Bradstock.
It will spend several months at the location with artists taking up residence in the space.
The project is run by the Winchester-based Spud (Space Placemaking and Urban Design) organisation.
Hythe's annual raft race was held at the weekend - the event, held on Southampton Water, is one of the few held on the open sea.
From decorated crafts to more serious entries, the event welcomes competitors of all abilities. Money raised went to the RNLI.
Music fans at the weekend's Cornbury Festival shared their memories of the event which is ending after 14 years.
Police have appealed for witnesses to a collision in Minley, near Farnborough, which has left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.
It happened just outside the Penny Hill Caravan Site on the B3013 Minley Road on Friday afternoon and involved a red lorry and a motorcycle.
The 25-year-old female rider of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and was taken to St George’s Hospital, London.
The male driver of the lorry was uninjured.

A civic funeral has been held for Gladys Howard, who died aged 100. She was one of Portsmouth's first WPCs in the late 1940s, going on to become an inspector.
After retiring she became a city councillor and eventually Lord Mayor.

Police are looking for a woman who was seen running away after a fire broke out at two homes in Southampton.
The blaze broke out shortly after 04:00 BST at two houses in Poole Road.
It took 20 firefighters more than four hours to bring the fire, which spread to the roof of both houses and the upstairs of one, under control.
Hampshire Constabulary, external said: "A woman was reported as running away from the address when the fire started and we are making enquiries to locate her."
The force said officers remain at the address assisting fire crews.
No-one was injured in the fire.
A public consultation is to be held on how to improve a stretch of river in Berkshire.
Roundmoor Ditch, which runs between Taplow and Dorney Common, had a major clean-up in 2014 to get rid of sewage.
A two-year project will now rebuild riverbanks and remove vegetation preventing wildlife diversity.
