Street lights in some residential areas in Hampshire are set to be switched off for three hours every night from April.
The change, which aims to save £230,000, could be approved at a county council meeting , externalon Monday.
The period of darkness, between 01:00 and 04:00, would not apply to higher crime areas, zebra crossings and some other areas.
Since 2015 street lights have been dimmed in Hampshire with no effect on crime or road accidents, the authority said.
