A swimming pool in Wokingham, Berkshire, will be closed until the end of the school half-term, its management has confirmed.

Carnival Pool in Wellington Road had to shut last week due to a burst water pipe.

Places Leisure, which runs the pool for Wokingham Borough Council, has confirmed it has ordered new pumps, but it won't be open again until Friday.

A man has been attacked twice in a fortnight by what police describe as an "out of control" dog in the same park in Poole.

In this first incident, the victim, a local man in his 40s, was cycling through Bourne Valley Park when he was approached by one of two Alsatian dogs, when the pedal of the bicycle struck the dog, which reacted by biting the victim’s leg.

On 14 October, the same dog approached the victim, who had to put his bike between him and the dog before asking the owner to control his pet.

Dorset Police have released a picture of the suspected owner, who uses a walking stick, in the hope of identifying him.

Firefighters have been tackling a large blaze at a manor house's historic water tower near Blackwater, Hampshire.

The disused 25-metre high tower, in the grounds of the Grade II-listed Minley Manor, was extinguished early this morning by fire crews.

A woman has been been raped by a man on a patch of grass in Swanage, Dorset, having met him on a night out.

The woman, in her 20s, met the man in Bar One in the High Street before he attacked her at about 04:00 BST on Sunday in Hillview Road.

He is described as white, aged in his 20s and of medium build, with a beard and short light hair that is longer on top.

He is believed to have been wearing green or khaki-coloured trousers, a T-shirt and possibly had a tattoo sleeve on his right arm.

Commuters using South Western Railway (SWR) trains will face a reduced service for the rest of this week due to strike action.

Members of the RMT union are taking action in the long-running dispute over the use of guards on trains - walking out from today until Saturday.

A fire on the grounds of an historic 19th Century Grade II listed manor house in Hampshire has been extinguished, Hampshire fire service has said.

The force said it extinguished a fire at a water tower at Minley Manor, near Fleet, at 05:00 BST and there is no danger to the public.

Crews are still at the scene and will be there reinspecting the area this morning due to concerns the tower could collapse.
