The 400-year tradition of bun throwing will take place in Abingdon at 17:00, with a jubilee twist.
In among the 5,000 fruit buns being lobbed off the top of county hall, there will be six knitted buns, especially commissioned by BBC Radio Oxford.
They were made by elusive yarn bomber Yarnsy.
She said: "I love anything that's a bit bonkers and a bit crazy so to be asked to do this has just been really lovely, really exciting."

Cargo specialist DP World has made its own unique tribute to the Queen.
It has arranged containers in its Southampton terminal to make the number 70.
The Oxford Health Community Hospital Gardens decided to celebrate the jubilee by asking people to help decorate its outdoor spaces.
The result was a feast of colourful bunting designed to "lift the spirits" of staff and patients.

Boats of all shapes and sizes have been performing a jubilee sail past of the Royal Victoria Yacht Club at Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight.
The Commodore Chris Rickman and his team took the salute.

The BBC's Lisa Simmons mentioned earlier a "beautiful lady walking around on stilts in a Union Jack dress" at Banbury's Big Lunch, and we were sure you'd want photographic evidence.
Well, a quick search of the crowds turned up not one, but two!
One of the biggest street parties in the South took place in Swanage yesterday.
The Lower High Street was closed off for a ticketed tea party for 600 people, with others taking picnics to Prince Albert Gardens.

Royal Mail has marked the Platinum Jubilee by releasing a set of commemorative stamps – something which has regularly been done to celebrate Royal milestones.

Hannah Graydon got in touch with us to tell us about another very special 70-year anniversary.
She wrote: "My in laws have their own platinum jubilee this weekend as they celebrate 70 years of marriage.
"They were married in Winchester, spent their honeymoon in Bournemouth, and have lived in Winchester ever since.
"I have to say they are an absolute inspiration to us all – a kinder, fun, more loving couple/parents/grandparents would be hard to find.
"We are so lucky to have them."
All of us at BBC South wish Freddie, 92, and Josie, 91, a very happy 70th wedding anniversary.
The first part of the Platinum Jubilee Pageant in London is under way.
The Gold State Coach - the 260-year-old carriage which carried the Queen to her coronation - is travelling along the pageant route.

Graeme Hewitt sent us these lovely photographs of the Queen and Prince Philip taking the stand at the Sandhurst Passing Out Parade and at the Royal Parade at Ascot from about 50 years ago.
Now 82 and living in Oakley, Hampshire, Graeme had been a press photographer at the Wokingham Times.
Today he says he will be celebrating the Platinum Jubilee by playing with The High Society Jazz Band, which he has led for more than 50 years.
More than 3,400 local residents reserved seats for the Goring and Streatley get together, and Goring High Street is bustling with activity
Volunteers Louise and Ben took on the complex table planning task:
"With 337 individual bookings, all with different requests for location along the 1km line, this has felt like a hugely complicated jigsaw puzzle."
Windsor’s Big Lunch is now in full swing.
As well as enjoying their picnics on a very, very long table made up of many smaller tables, visitors are watching the national Platinum Pageant on big screens.
The Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading held a big tea party this week to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Patients at the Liebenrood Road hospice dressed in red, white and blue, wore home-made fascinators, and were joined by the Mayor of Reading.
Maureen Whitby, 82, said: "I remember watching the Queen’s Coronation on the television as a child, it was such a big thing and she looked so beautiful.
"We had street parties and it was such a wonderful day.
"Celebrating her 70 years on the throne today has been great fun and the team have worked so hard to organise it."
The Big Lunch is under way in Banbury's Market Place, to which 1,000 primary school children have been invited to attend.
The BBC's Lisa Simmons said: "It’s looking absolutely beautiful here. It’s a bit damp, but that’s OK.
"There’s bunting everywhere... there’s a beautiful lady walking around on stilts in a Union Jack dress, there’s an accordion player, there’s a big screen.
"It’s going to be fun. We’re not going to let the rain dampen our spirits."
Preparations are under way for a 1km-long [0.6 mile] street party that will span the villages of Goring and Streatley.
Berkshire and Oxfordshire will be joined together by 550 tables stretching across a bridge over the River Thames.
Organiser Ginny Avery said: "We have been delighted by the positive response to our plans to honour this momentous occasion and for all the kind offers of help we’ve received so far."
Lloyd Jenkins, clad in a Union Jack suit and joined by his wife Gemma and children Kitty and Jack, described the atmosphere as "fantastic".
"What a great effort by the community... it’s going to be spectacular."
Residents of The Close care home in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, were treated to a performance by drag queen Vanity Von Glow on Friday to celebrate the Jubilee.
Sanjay Dhrona, managing director of The Close, said his residents were "much more invested in diversity and inclusion than often realised, and are remarkable people with exciting life stories".
Resident Kath, 94, has been reminiscing about the Queen's coronation.
“I have fond memories of the coronation and can recall the joy of the whole nation at the time and how everyone came together.
"We huddled around a neighbour’s small black and white TV to watch it.
"We decorated the entire place with hand-made crepe paper flowers that were red, white and blue, made by myself, my friends and the landlady from my digs at the time."
