    Worcester City's manager has warned that Vanarama North is going to be tougher than ever next season as there will be some very strong clubs coming into the league. 

    FC Halifax Town, Altrincham and Kidderminster Harriers have all been relegated into the league, while two ambitious clubs - Darlington and Salford City - have been promoted to the level for next season.

    Some of the world's top female cyclists could compete in Worcester next year after a bid was put in to host a stage of Women's Tour of Britain., external

    If successful, it could bring in more than £2m to Worcester's economy, according to Herefordshire and Worcestershire chamber of commerce. 

    Now £150,000 in sponsorship needs to be raised to bring the race to the city.

  6. 'Monster of Worcester' child killer's 'parole': Anger of victims' motherpublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 7 June 2016

    The mother of three children who were murdered in 1973 says there should be "no question" over keeping the killer behind bars.

    Babysitter David McGreavy, dubbed the 'Monster of Worcester', killed Paul, aged four, and his sisters Dawn, aged two, and nine-month-old Samantha. He was sentenced to life in prison for murdering them in their Worcester home and impaling their mutilated bodies on spiked garden railings.

    The Parole Board has confirmed McGreavy's case is under consideration, but the victims' mother, 65, says "he should be left in there until he bloody dies".

  9. EU referendum: Midnight deadline to register to votepublished at 10:34 British Summer Time 7 June 2016

    People have until 23:59 on Tuesday 7 June to register to be able to vote in the referendum on whether the UK stays in the European Union or leaves.

    Registering online, external should take about five minutes. People may need their National Insurance number, or passport number if a UK citizen living abroad.

    Those wanting to vote by post must download the application form, external and return it to their local office by 17:00 on Wednesday 8 June in order to qualify.

    A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office, external for Herefordshire and Worcestershire from 13:00 today.

    It says there's potential for heavy, thundery showers which could turn torrential with the risk of hail.

    While most places will miss the worst, there's a risk of localised flooding.

    Our top story this morning: A triple child killer known as the Monster of Worcester is being prepared for release from prison, a national newspaper reports. 

    David McGreavy was jailed for life in 1973 for killing three children he was babysitting - and impaling them on garden railings.

    The Daily Mail newspaper reports, external that according to prison insiders, McGreavy is being prepared for release. 

    He killed 4-year-old Paul Ralph and his sisters Dawn, aged two, and nine-month-old Samantha at their Worcester home.
