    A mother whose son lost his arm when he fell on to the rail tracks alongside a moving train is calling for safety improvements at the station.

    Kerry Preece says the gap between trains and the platform at Droitwich Spa railway station is too wide.

    Dominic Preece, from Kidderminster, who's 17 and has learning difficulties, left his bag on the train earlier this month and fell on to the track while chasing after it.

    Network Rail says as the investigation is continuing, it's unable to comment any further.

    Train operator London Midland described it as a "tragic accident" and said it was investigating all the circumstances.

    Shrewsbury Town have signed the Kidderminster Harriers striker Arthur Gnahoua.

    The 24-year-old scored 15 goals for the National League North side last season.

    A Worcestershire mother whose son lost his arm when he fell on to a rail track alongside a moving train says he is a "remarkable young man" who is in high spirits despite all that has happened to him.

    She is now fundraising for a prosthetic arm for her son.

    In the past three years, 16 West Mercia Police staff have faced disciplinary action for looking up people's police records for unofficial reasons, figures released by the force in response to a Freedom of Information request reveal, external.

    Eight of those proceedings involved police constables and two involved sergeants, with the remainder concerning community officers and backroom staff.

    Two people ended up being dismissed as a result of this disciplinary action and another two resigned, the force has said.

    Computer users are being warned by police scammers are using the recent 'ransomware' attack to con people, external.

    West Mercia police say one person was persuaded to pay £350 for a free piece of Microsoft software by scammers, after giving remote access to their computer.

  19. Roger Curry: Bail extended in kidnap casepublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 24 May 2017

    A 51-year-old man from Taunton, who was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping an elderly American who was found wandering in Hereford, has had his bail extended until July.

    Pensioner Roger Curry, who has dementia, was identified by an investigation by the BBC Panorama team

    He was looked after in a care home in Herefordshire after he was found in November 2015.

    Mr Curry is now in the care of the Los Angeles health authorities.
