  4. Tata boss: We need more government help to find buyerpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 28 April 2016

    Tata Steel has told MPs that the government needs to more to help it find a buyer for the rest of the business.

    Tata has already signed a deal with Greybull Capital to buy the Scunthorpe steelworks but is looking for a buyer for its other sites, including Port Talbot in Wales.

    Bimlendra Jha (pictured) Tata UK's chief executive told MPs on the Business select committee that a sale would not happen unless the pension fund deficit was addressed.

    Although there was no set deadline for a sale Tata could not continue to "bleed" indefinitely, he said.

    He's being taken on a tour of the site and will also meet Labour's local election candidates.

    Later he'll go to the Workers Day Memorial Service at the Grimsby Cenotaph before heading to Hull.

    The Conservative-led East Riding of Yorkshire Council is criticising the government in a letter below over plans to make all schools become academies by 2020.

    The government is arguing that improving schools through the academy process is a step towards "real social justice".

    The Conservative-run East Riding of Yorkshire Council is rebelling against government plans to force all schools to become academies by 2020. 

    It says the academies format won't work in rural areas like the East Riding.

    Bookings at guest houses and hotels in Bridlington for this Bank Holiday weekend are up by more than 250% compared to this time last year.

    The accommodation website, Late Rooms.com, external, says there's been a big increase in the number of people looking to stay in the UK this year .
