    Latest headlines for East Yorkshire and Humber:

    • Humberside Police are appealing for help to identify those responsible for disorder at the Hull KR V Salford match over the weekend
    • A driver has had a narrow escape after a car was hit by a commuter train in North Lincolnshire
    • Police have released a picture of a man they want to speak to in connection with a sexual assault in a Hull

    Police have released a picture of a man they want to speak to in connection with a sexual assault in a Hull.

    The incident happened at the end of August outside the Tesco Store on Beverley Road in the city. A woman says she was approached by the man who touched her inappropriately and then rode off on a bike.

  5. Two attempts to raid cash machines in Grimsbypublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

    Police are investigating after attempts were made on two separate cash machines in Grimsby. 

    The first incident happened at Lloyds TSB, Durban Road, Grimsby, between 01.45 and 02:00 on Wednesday, 28 September. 

    The second came the day after, in Freeman Street Market between 23:00 that night and 01:00m.

    In both instances the would-be-thieves broke into the building and tried to access the cash machines.

  6. Facelift for homes in East Hullpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

    As part of Hull City Council's major regeneration programme for the Holderness Road corridor, 258 homes on Estcourt Street are having improvements. 

    External wall painting, new fascias and gutters will make up part of the work, as well as footpaths being renewed and new boundary walls. 

    Residents and landlords were consulted on the proposed work, 98% agreed the work needed to be carried out.

    One of Hull's biggest and oldest traditions returns this week, the Hull Fair.

    Offering all the traditional fun fair attractions, it's known as one of the largest travelling fairs in Europe, attracting thousands of visitors each year. 

    The fair actually opened on 9 March 1279, but after the changing of the calendar in 1751 the date changed to the Friday closest to 11 October. 

    Have a look at this footage from the fair in 1938.

    The fair runs until Saturday 15 October on Walton Street, a number of road closures will be in place.

    Former Tigers player Dean Windass is embroiled in bankruptcy proceedings.

    Tax officials say he owes more than £150,000 which his lawyers say he is trying to pay off.  

    Windass was not present at the preliminary Bankruptcy Court hearing in London today. The next hearing is scheduled for December. 

    In the last 18 years the striker made more than 600 appearances and scored more than 200 goals in his career.

    The Prime Minister Theresa May has thrown her weight behind elected mayors.

    If devolution happens in our region, it would mean we would have a directly-elected mayor. 

    North and North East Lincolnshire councils would form part of a Greater Lincolnshire authority but the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce says the model being proposed isn't the right one. 

    That's being refuted by the leader of North East Lincolnshire council Ray Oxby.

  20. Rugby Football League vow ban for pitch brawlerspublished at 11:53 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

    The Rugby Football League will conduct an investigation into crowd trouble that followed Salford's Million Pound Game win against Hull KR on Saturday.

    Rovers are the first Super League team to be relegated since the introduction of the Super 8s format, which sees the top two divisions split into three after 23 regular season rounds.
