  3. UKIP MEP Mike Hookem given formal reprimand by partypublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 26 October 2016

    Kimberley Metcalfe
BBC Local Live, Hull and East Yorkshire

UKIP's investigation into the "altercation" between two of its members in the European Parliament has been released.

Steven Woolfe ended up being taken to hospital unconscious, but his colleague, Humber MEP Mike Hookem, has consistently denied punching him.

    Mike Hookem

Paul Oakden, the UKIP chairman, said that in the absence of an eye witness the true facts will never be known about what took place.

He added that suspension had been a strong possibility but took into consideration Mr Hookem's apology and acknowledged that while foolish, he was not the instigator of this incident.

    Quote Message

I'm appalled that such a situation could arise between two of our most high-profile representatives and I have strongly considered suspension as a possible course of action. A formal reprimand will be placed on Mr Hookem's internal record, to be considered in the event of a re-occurrence of any infraction which might cause damage to the reputation of the party."

  4. 10,000 tonnes of rock to upgrade beach and flood defences in Cleethorpespublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 26 October 2016

    Lara King
    North East Lincolnshire reporter

Three-quarters of a million pounds is to be spent upgrading beach and flood defences at the northern end of North Promenade in Cleethorpes.

The original groyne was designed to maintain the sand levels on the beach and reduce the impact of the waves on the sea walls which protect that area from flooding.

Nearly 10,000 tonnes of rock will be needed to complete the new groyne with the rock sizes being up to four tonnes in weight.

The work is due to start in November and the rock will be delivered by sea.
