    A criminal investigation is under way after a cyber attack on computers at Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole Hospitals. 

    Police in West Yorkshire, where the regional cyber crime unit is based, say they are investigating the attack. 

    Health bosses at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust are working to clear a backlog of hundreds of cancelled operations after three days of disruption.

    Police are asking for help to find the family of a Grimsby man. 

    David Haines, who was 50, was found dead at his home on Rutland Street in Grimsby on Tuesday 1 November. 

    His death is not being treated as suspicious and any friends or family of Mr Haines should call the coroner's office on 01472 324015.

    Humberside's Police and Crime Commissioner Keith Hunter has praised the work of the force's Chief Constable despite a report saying the force needs to improve.

    Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary says response times must improve; there was late attendance to some incidents and there weren't enough officers. 

    One area that has seen improvement is the way in-coming calls were dealt with.

    Hull Kingston Rovers', external forward Dane Tilse has signed a one-year deal to stay with the club and has agreed to take a significant pay cut.

    He was one of the higher-paid players in the Robins squad last year.

    It's been confirmed that the man who died in a crash on the A180, external in North Lincolnshire was James Cole, 79, from Immingham. 

    Mr Cole died at the scene, near South Killingholme, on Tuesday night. 

    The 36-year-old driver of the other car who was seriously injured, remains in a stable condition in hospital.

    A man's been left with a punctured lung, fractured ribs and facial injuries, external after being attacked in Hull.

    It happened on Epworth Street off Beverley Road after 21:30 on Monday 24 October.

    It's thought the man, who was kept in hospital, was attacked by two men who were unknown to him.

    Police are appealing for information.

    Humberside Police Force's efforts at reducing crime and keeping people safe is still not good enough, a watchdog has said.

    The force "requires improvement" in efficiency, according to Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC).

    The report raised concerns, external about the number of officers available and said that "on occasions priority incidents were attended late or unallocated".

    Chief Constable Justine Curran said the force was improving the call handling and recruiting 300 new officers.

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council wants people to put more of their food waste in their brown bins, external.

    They say another 4,000 tonnes of rubbish could be recycled every year if people used their brown bins more.

    Here's the things you can put in your brown bin:

    • Food and garden waste, including cooked and uncooked food
    • Fruit and vegetable peelings
    • Plate scrapings
    • Bones and carcases
    • Meat and eggshells
    • Grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, small branches, leaves, flowers and weeds

    I've been down to Pearson Park to find out about the fountain there. 

    I'm told there was a long-lost identical twin on the South Atlantic island of St Helena and councillor John Fareham has helped to arrange for both to be restored.

    Authors, artists and architects will be taking up residency in schools across Hull next year. 

    It's part of the "No Limits" scheme being launched by the City of Culture team today. 

    The aim is to encourage pupils' creativity.
