    Tim Donovan, who is BBC London's political editor, says London Mayor Sadiq Khan has called for Transport for London (TfL) to take over troubled Southern rail.

  4. Ambulance computers suffer 'consistent failures'published at 10:33 British Summer Time 20 July 2016

    A computer dispatch system used by the South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) has suffered consistent failures, documents seen by BBC South East have shown. 

    It regularly crashes, causing problems in getting information to crews.

    DFDS Seaways are currently recommending passengers allow two to three hours to pass security due to increased passport controls introduced by the French authorities. 

    The Dover approach from the A20 is gridlocked.

  6. Archbishop to take in refugee familypublished at 09:46 British Summer Time 20 July 2016

    The Archbishop of Canterbury is to give sanctuary to a Syrian refugee family who will live in the grounds of his official residence.

    The family - which is understood to include a child needing treatment - will live in a cottage in the grounds of Justin Welby's home.

    It’s part of a community sponsorship scheme unveiled by the Archbishop and the new Home Secretary Amber Rudd, who is urging other organisations to join.

Meanwhile Michelle Leaford, from St Peter's, in Broadstairs sent us a shot which shows just how hot it got!
