    Bob Dale
    BBC Live reporter

Plans to spend millions of pounds redeveloping Bognor seafront have been published.

The Regis Centre would be replaced by a winter garden and a new theatre, with new homes on the site of a car park.

The seafront itself could see a new hotel, restaurants and a roof garden and performance space above the new theatre.

Arun District Council says £100m in investment's already been secured for the project.

    Quote Message

This study encapsulates the bold and innovative thinking we feel is needed to unlock the full potential of Bognor Regis. These sites have been waiting too long for the redevelopment proposed and the time is now right to make it happen."

Worthing Borough Council can go ahead with its planned redevelopment of the redundant Aquarena swimming pool building, after the government decided not to step into the planning process.

    Quote Message

I am delighted that the Secretary of State has decided not to intervene in the determination of application for the redevelopment of the Aquarena site. This decision is fully in line with the Government's Localism agenda which seeks to ensure that planning decisions are made at the local level and to only intervene where there are planning issues of more than local importance.
