  1. Turner Contemporary to host Turner Prize 2019published at 10:24 British Summer Time 24 May 2017

    It's been announced that the host venue for Turner Prize 2019 will be Turner Contemporary in Margate.

    The Turner Prize aims to promote public debate around new developments in contemporary British art.

    Every other year, the prize leaves Tate Britain and is presented at a venue outside London.

    Victoria Pomery, Director of Turner Contemporary said: "We are thrilled to host the Turner Prize here at Turner Contemporary in 2019.

    "This is a truly transformative opportunity for Margate to be part of something which invites conversations on an international scale, connecting our audiences to outstanding contemporary art and inspiring future generations of creative talent."

    There's lots of dry and sunny weather on the way over the next few days so this is good news if you're thinking of heading down to one of Sussex or Kent's beaches.

    Thirteen of them have received Blue Flag awards.

    Joss Bay, Sheerness and Tankerton in Kent, as well as St Leonards and Brighton in Sussex have reached the required standard for cleanliness and water quality.

    If you're planning to use the Channel Tunnel you may see an increased security presence, which is a result of the Manchester attack.

    Eurotunnel has just issued this statement addressing the changes:
