  2. Hotel deal for Paramount Resortpublished at 08:36 British Summer Time 13 June 2017

    A deal has been reached between the planned Paramount Resort in north Kent and InterContinental Hotels Group to bring 4,000 guest rooms to the site.

    The resort on the Swanscombe Peninsula, near Dartford, would be twice the size of the Olympic Park and include 5,000 hotel rooms and a water park.

    The latest plans for the entertainment resort will go on public display in autumn this year, before a Development Consent Order is submitted to the Secretary of State.

    The £2bn resort is scheduled to open in 2022.

    Four racing bikes worth thousands of pounds each have been stolen from a garage in Tunbridge Wells.

    They were taken sometime between 17:00 BST on 5 June and 07:45 BST on 6 June, from a property in Pembury Road.

    The bikes are a Trek Concept 9.9, a Colnago Zipp 404, a Pinarello Full Set and a Pinarello Graal.

    Police are hoping someone may spot the bikes being offered for sale.

    The Association of British Commuters says Transport Secretary Chris Grayling is being "rewarded for failure" by being allowed to keep his job in the cabinet reshuffle.

    It follows widespread disruption and a year-long strike on Southern Rail, over the introduction of Driver Only Operated trains.

  5. New service for eating disorder suffererspublished at 07:02 British Summer Time 13 June 2017

    A new early intervention service is being launched in Kent for people with eating disorders.

    It's hoped the move will reduce the number of people ending up in hospital with anorexia and bulimia.

    There have been nearly 300 admissions for eating disorders in Kent in the last six years.

    The BBC Radio Kent Breakfast Show with John and Anna will be speaking to Jenny Langley, a mother from Sevenoaks who nearly lost her son to the illness when he was a teenager.

    After a successful trial, Kent Police has started using drones to assist in its work.

    Examples include the search for missing people and road accidents.
