Some of the stories making the news in West Yorkshire include:

    • Counter terrorism officers have started a second search in Keighley, where two people were arrested after explosives were found at a house. Residents of Parkwood Street were evacuated for a controlled explosion.
    • The father and ex-husband of a woman from Bradford have appeared in court again in Pakistan, accused of her murder. Samia Shahid died in July after travelling to Pakistan to visit relatives. Today the pair have been remanded back into custody.
    • West Yorkshire bus company Yorkshire Tiger Limited have been given a heavy fine after failing to meet punctuality and reliability targets.

  17. Keighley residents evacuated for controlled explosionpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 5 September 2016

    Charles Heslett
    Journalist, BBC Radio Leeds

More on the explosives found in a house in Keighley...

Two people are in custody and dozens of residents of Parkwood Street were moved to a local leisure centre as a precaution, while army bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion.

Most were allowed back to their terraced homes just after three this morning.

It's not being treated as a terrorist incident, and a 48-year-old man and a woman, aged 29, are being questioned.

I've been up in Keighley this morning speaking to residents like Jillian Dorey who was among those evacuated.
