Health bosses want to build a new hospital without an emergency department but that would mean people in Huddersfield would have to travel to Halifax for emergency care.

A final decision on the site is due this afternoon.

Family doctors in and around Huddersfield have refused to endorse the plans for change.

    Quote Message

Patients and the people of Huddersfield have understandable concerns that some of their more basic services may be downgraded as well as part of this reconfiguration plan. That's why GPs in the area have raised concerns about this process and have not been able to support the plans as they're currently outlined."
