    More now on plans to transform the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds as a multi-million pound scheme is being presented to the city council today.

    The project includes a new theatre space, additional seating and a new entrance. 

    A final decision won't be made until later in the year and, if approved, work is scheduled to begin in 2018.

    A Yorkshire school has taken to the skies to teach geography.

    Phones, tablets and drones have all become part of the school day for pupils at Malton School.

    Muslim women campaigners in Bradford want to raise awareness that the Islamic marriage ceremony, known as Nikah is not legally binding in British law. 

    One woman has been married twice, but not through the UK legal system, which she says left her with little rights after a divorce.

    Innocent people shouldn't be left out of pocket by the legal cost of fighting their case, a Yorkshire peer has said. 

    Lord Kirkhope of Harrogate is asking for a change in the law to allow legal costs to be reclaimed. 

    He's raised the issue after Kenneth Hugill, an 83-year-old East Yorkshire farmer from Wilberfoss, near York, was prosecuted for shooting an intruder on his property.

    Mr Hugill was cleared, but faces a legal bill of £30,000. 

    Lord Kirkhope said the farmer now faced a big legal bill and "that's not justice":

    A woman from North Yorkshire who's cared for her husband with dementia for five years says she now knows what the word "hopeless" means. 

    The wife of John Atkinson - a former Leeds Rugby League star - said that she had thought about ending both of their lives. 

    Carol and John live at Burn Bridge, near Harrogate. 

    Mrs Atkinson said the man she married is "no longer there":

    An inquest is due to be held today into the deaths of four people on the A64 near Malton

    In July 2016 a car and lorry collided near Malton killing all of the car's occupants.

    Paul and Susan Dockerty had recently married and were travelling in the vehicle with Derek and Joy Green who were guests at the wedding.

    Joy Green was a well-known artist from the Scarborough area.

    A West Yorkshire theatre is putting plans for a multi-million pound refurbishment before Leeds City Council today.

    West Yorkshire Playhouse wants to build a new entrance, improve the theatre space and put in extra seats. 

    A final decision on the project will be made by the council later in the year.

    A new £6m factory is set to secure 200 jobs in Sheffield. 

    3D printing

    The William Cook group designs and manufactures components for the energy, defence, rail and aerospace sectors. 

    The new factory on Parkway Avenue will combine the latest 3D printing and investment in casting technology, the firm said.
