Volunteers have been working to clear-up and repair valuable carriages vandalised on the North Yorkshire Moors railway.

Seven teak cars, used in the filming of ITV drama Downton Abbey, were damaged on Sunday.

Damage to the carriages, which date from 1930 to 1950, was extensive with windows smashed and furniture and fittings damaged.

Jennifer Halmshaw is a volunteer on the railway and says everyone's pulling together in the clear up:

The charity which runs the heritage railway said it was unable to estimate the cost of repairing the set of carriages, but said it would "run into thousands".

Two 17-year-old boys were arrested and released while the investigation continues.

That's according to work from the think tank, Centre for Cities, which puts it in the top 10 areas likely to come off worst, whether it's a hard or soft Brexit.

The new study looks at the consequences of leaving the EU on major cities and suggests places like Leeds, with a high concentration of business and financial services, looks set to suffer the most.

Centre for Cities also suggests, although economically vibrant now, output will go down in Leeds by over 2.5%.

Yesterday five of the original eight campaigners who went to court agreed to sign legal documents saying they would stop their protests.
