    A boy who took to the roof of a building in Hull on Friday has been charged following his arrest.

    The 14-year-old scaled the property in on Surbiton Close as police tried to detain him.

    He later came down as was charged with burglary and the theft of a car at a property on Fortune Close in Hull.

    He was also charged with theft of fuel, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and failing to stop for officers when asked to do so.

    He was further charged with a public order offence and for two counts of criminal damage in relation to the roof top incident.

    He is due to appear at Hull Magistrates' Court today.

    A woman has died in hospital after being seriously injured in a crash involving two cars.

    The woman, who is in her 80s, was a passenger in a grey VW Passat which collided with a silver VW golf on Harborough Avenue, in Sheffield, at about 11:50 on Thursday.

    South Yorkshire Police say two other people were also injured in the crash.

    Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police.
