    Ian Vears, Highways Manager for Leicestershire County Council, said: "We have handed out 27,000 leaflets, external, there have been signs up for weeks and we have had lots of discussions with parish councils.

    "If you are not coming to one of the events, then I would avoid the Market Bosworth, Sutton Cheney, Dadlington areas and in particular the A47 into the city until at least 5 or 6 in the evening."
