    Peter Pritchard got in touch on our Facebook page, external after reading about dogs frightening deers at Bradgate Park.

    He wrote: "The point every one is missing here is that the deer see any dog as a wolf, whether it is on a lead or not, under control or not, therefore a source of stress to the prey animal that deer are."

    The red deer population story has generated plenty of chatter online.

    Dogs should be on a lead or owners told to leave the park. Time for the rangers to man up and be a lot stricter. 

    "Make sure plenty of dog bins are available and used. Sensible and responsible dog owners will suffer if the idiots are not policed.

  14. Changes to county's tip opening hourspublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 1 April 2016

    Opening hours at Leicestershire's recycling and waste sites are changing from today. , external

    All 14 sites will now open five days a week and will have summer and winter hours. 

    Half will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the others will be shut on Thursdays and Fridays.
