The Independent Police Complaints Commission has sent this statement regarding its involvement in looking at the the three deaths:
Quote MessageLeicestershire Police notified us early today (Wednesday) about a serious incident their officers attended in Welwyn Road, Hinckley. We understand that three people were subsequently confirmed dead inside a property there and a fourth person was taken to hospital injured. The IPCC has sent investigators to the police post incident procedure to assess the level, if any, of our involvement."

Here is a little bit more from what Det Ch Supt David Sandall told reporters gathered by the police cordon.
"At this stage we are not going to give any details of the names of the children or the male," he said.
"All I can say is they are both of school age."

Police negotiators spoke to a man and a woman for several hours before gaining access to the property.
A woman emerged with injuries in the early hours of the morning.
The police then got inside the house and discovered the man and two children dead inside.
