    I've been talking to people in Rothley about the ram-raid. One local woman told me: "It looks like a bomb's gone off. It's going to take ages to reconstruct. 

    "This is the worst thing that's ever happened in Rothley. We've never had anything like this."

    Harry Murphy runs a cafe on Woodgate. He realised what had happened at about 07:15 when the police cordon prevented him from using the road.

    He said: "It's a bit strange and unexpected. The post office is due to close of Saturday anyway so it's a sad end to 20-plus years of service to the village."

    Police have confirmed a cash machine was stolen from the post office, external shop in Rothley early this morning.

    They've said a JCB was used to damage the cash machine and then place it on the back of a pick-up type vehicle.

    It's thought the JCB was stolen from a nearby building site.

    The pick-up truck has been found burned out in fields in Belton, Rutland.

    The fire service has tweeted some photos of posters that have gone up in the Rowlatts Hill Road area of Leicester...

    This one warns of vehicle arson - another warns of wheelie bin fires.

    Officers have said it's down to "recent incidents" and they are now proactively monitoring specific areas more closely.

    Some flats in Leicester have been flooded early this morning.

    The fire service has reported going to properties on Munnings Close where water was leaking into six flats.

    They've isolated the electrics and given support to the nine residents affected.
