Surgeons performing children's heart operations at the Glenfield Hospital in Leicester have come up with a solution that could keep their unit open.

I've spoken to Claire Clark from Thurlby in Lincolnshire  - she chose Glenfield Hospital for her two-year-old daughter over Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Peterborough City Hospital said most of its patients with congential heart disease are seen in London.

The BBC has also discovered that Glenfield's waiting list of 14 is shorter than the other centres which range from 159 patients at Great Ormond Street to 30 at Leeds General Infirmary.

The unit is under threat as part of a national NHS review of the service .
