    Three vulnerable kittens were dumped on a doorstep in Derby when they were just 10 days old.

    They were found by a member of the public in the Pear Tree area of the city.

    The little bundles of fluff are now recovering well at the RSPCA’s Derby branch.

    The kittens, which are called, Yoda, Gonzo and Rizzo, are being fed every two hours to help them grow.

    Derby City Council has said it faced two cyber attacks in the last year – but didn’t report either of them to the police.

    In response to a Freedom of Information request, the council said it had only recently started to log cyber attacks.

    The two attacks in 2016/17 were "ransomware" and the authority didn’t meet the hackers’ demands.

    A mother from Derby, who has incurable bowel cancer, has said she's been "overwhelmed by the feeling of love and support" she's received.

    Lisa Foster is 36 years old and has three young children - Ruby, Zach and Scarlett. She's been told half of people with her diagnosis die within nine months.

    In just six days the family managed to raise £50,000 to help her look after her children while she has chemotherapy.

    She's posted on Facebook saying: "Your generosity is beyond my wildest expectation... Thank you, everyone, from the bottom of my heart, you are wonderful people."

    She's hoping to live long enough for her seven-month-old baby to remember her.

    Scattered nails in East Leake have left many drivers with flat tyres, residents have claimed.

    People who live in Damson Road and Mulberry Way said handfuls of nails have often been found over the last two years.

    Police say one family was stranded on the M1 after they got a flat tyre from three nails which they think they picked up in the Nottinghamshire village last month.

    Specialist workers have begun lifting a huge piece of Roman mosaic from a building site in Leicester...

    It's off to Grantham to be restored before returning to feature in the city's Jewry Wall museum.

    The mosaic was discovered by archaeologists on land near the Highcross shopping centre - it is one of the largest pieces to be found in Leicester in the last 30 years.

    Two men were stabbed in Hucknall in a series of connected public order incidents on Sunday evening.

    There were reports of a group of abusive men outside the Plough and Harrow pub at 20:30 before the stabbing in High Street at 22:30.

    There then followed reports of a man threatening people with a knife at the Chequers pub at 23:15.

    A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the events and Nottinghamshire Police are looking for another man, aged 18 to 20.

    This bridge has caused problems for lots of lorry drivers recently - earlier this year we reported it had been hit 11 times in 12 months.

    Network Rail has pleaded with HGV drivers to heed "low bridge" warning signs.

    Anna Soubry, Conservative candidate for Broxtowe, said the man who called for someone to "Jo Cox" her, has been handed a suspended jail term.

    The man was arrested at his home in Bethnal Green, east London, in December last year for the Twitter post which was directed at Ms Soubry.

    It was a reference to the Labour MP Jo Cox murdered the week before the EU referendum.

    The 32-year-old has come from fellow Championship side Hull City for an undisclosed fee.

    It's a two-year deal with the option of a third.

    A woodland nature area used by Stonebroom Primary School, Alfreton, has been damaged.

    Plastic canopies and a wooden door at the forest school were damaged and hammocks and shelters the children had built were pulled down.

    It is believed it happened sometime between 9:00 and 14:00 on Saturday 20 May.

    Luckily there is some bright and warmer weather today, which is pretty well because the first new Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) show in a decade will open at Chatsworth.

    The show at the Derbyshire stately home features eight display gardens.

    Strong winds yesterday forced the closure of the preview day for the media and celebrities.

    Organisers are expecting almost 90,000 people to visit the event, officially opened by Alan Titchmarsh and Mary Berry, over five days.
