There's a yellow warning of snow and ice in place for Leicestershire, Rutland, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire until 10:00 on Friday.
We're expecting a scattering of wintry showers which could fall as snow, even at lower levels, for a time.
The showers will continue through the night but as slightly less cold air arrives by dawn, most showers will fall as rain.

People living near Sutton Lane in Hilton have been advised to limit their time outside due to a pile of waste that's been on fire for several days, external.
The fire service said ground conditions had made it difficult for crews to access the burning pile but it hoped to make progress over the next 24 hours.
People have also been advised to avoid cycling or jogging in the area around the fire and to keep windows and doors closed as much as possible.

In case you've been living under a rock for the last few days, you'll be aware that Prince Harry and his new fiancee Meghan Markle are visiting Nottingham tomorrow.
They're heading to Nottingham Contemporary in the Lace Market to visit the Terrence Higgins World Aids Day charity fair.

She said it was lagging behind other cities that have been asked to tackle pollution.

Derby City Council said: "We met with Defra today to present an update on our plans to tackle air quality.
"As such we are not in a position to comment until we have received direct feedback from this.
"Derby City Council takes the issue of air quality very seriously and we already have a number of measures in place to tackle it.
"We are currently undertaking work to develop additional measures to reduce air pollution that work best for the city of Derby."
The snow was really coming down earlier on in Arnold in Nottinghamshire.

Police say a pedestrian has been hit by a bus in Clay Cross.
The crash happened in Eyre Street at about 15:50 and has led to traffic delays in the area.
No further information has been given about the pedestrian's injuries.

A former parliamentary Liberal Democrat candidate from Nottinghamshire has said he felt suicidal after being falsely accused of sexually abusing a teenage boy.
Jason Zadrozny faced a total of 24 offences including counts of sexual activity with a male child under 16.
Last month his case was thrown out of court because the Crown Prosecution Service said no evidence would be offered against the Nottinghamshire county councillor.
Mr Zadrozny explained how the ordeal turned his life upside down.
