    Here's a view inside the blue-carpeted marquee set up outside the King Power Stadium to allow people to sign a book of condolence for the five victims of Saturday's helicopter crash.

    Four stations have been set up to reduce waiting times.

    Former Derby, Forest and Leicester goalkeeper Peter Shilton witnessed the helicopter crash at the King Power Stadium on Saturday with his wife.

    He described it as "one of the most horrendous things anybody could ever see" and said the memory would "live with us forever".

    A body found in Thringstone last night, external is believed to be a 21-year-old man who had been reported missing.

    Fraser Smith disappeared from his home in Coalville on Friday.

    Formal identification has yet to take place. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

    It was a particularly painful night for a Nottinghamshire firefighter as his crew dealt with a house fire in Sandiacre at 01:00.

    A small aerosol can exploded while he was helping to evacuate two adults and three children from the Coronation Avenue property and hit him in the leg.

    He was checked over by medics but - aside from this nasty-looking bruise - he had sustained no major injuries.

  5. Military rehab centre gets extra £70m investmentpublished at 09:04 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2018

    An extra £70m is being invested in the new Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre in Nottinghamshire.

    The announcement was made by the Chancellor Philip Hammond during yesterday's Budget.

    In June, the Duke of Cambridge and the Prime Minister took part in the official handover ceremony.

    The money for Stanford Hall near Loughborough will be used to build a second centre for civilians recuperating from major trauma injuries.

    Fans began arriving at the marquee outside the King Power Stadium from about 06:00, hoping to be the first to sign the book of condolence.

    The tent features four stations where people can write their tributes, external and is due to stay open until 22:00 each day "for the foreseeable future".

    Buildings in Leicester and further afield were lit up blue last night in memory of those killed in the helicopter crash at the King Power Stadium.

    Among those paying tribute were the University of Leicester, North West Leicestershire District Council and Championship side Bristol City.

    Last night former Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez scored the winning goal for Manchester City at Spurs and dedicated it to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

    After the game he said the late Foxes owner was "like a dad for us [the Leicester players] and for me".

    There are long delays on the M1 northbound between junctions 20 and 21 following a crash involving two lorries and a subsequent diesel spill.

    Two lanes are currently closed and Highways England says congestion is stretching back more than five miles, external.

    A book of condolence is being opened at Leicester City this morning for its owner and four others who died in a helicopter crash.

    The book will be in a marquee outside the King Power Stadium "for the foreseeable future", with an online version also available.

    A sea of tributes to the crash victims is continuing to grow outside the stadium.

    Yesterday it was visited by Leicester City's players and the family of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.
