    Police are appealing for help from the public to trace a man from Derby they want to speak to over allegations of stalking and threats to kill.

    Officers are also looking to speak to 30-year-old Jermaine Webster about alleged malicious communications, coercive and controlling behaviour and a breach of a restraining order.

    A man left a baby "unrestrained" in a car after a crash with a police patrol vehicle following a pursuit in Leicester.

    The driver was caught a short distance away following the collision in Leicester Road, Glen Parva, on Tuesday afternoon, police said

    The officer received minor injuries after his airbag was deployed, smashing the windscreen.

    The baby was not injured, the force said.

    A 35-year-old man, of Dartford Road, Leicester, has been charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

    He is due to appear at Leicester magistrate's court.

    A woman who spent 20 days on a ventilator in hospital with coronavirus has asked people "to be very, very careful to keep their distance".

    Paula McDonald, from Hucknall, in Nottinghamshire, returned home from the Queen's Medical Centre last week after being admitted on 2 April.

    Mrs McDonald, 56, said the virus has still left her feeling "completely drained".

    "It takes everything away from you," she added.

    She said she has no memory of going on the ventilator.

    "Apparently the doctor spoke to me about it but I don’t recall that at all," she said.

    "I was totally gobsmacked I had been out for that length of time."

    Mrs McDonald added: "I'd like to ask people out there to be very, very careful to keep their distance. It can get anybody."

    The chief constable of Derbyshire Police has announced he will stand down from his position and retire from the police service at the end of July.

    Peter Goodman became head of the force three years ago, having served in its chief officer team for 13 years before that.

    He said he is "very proud" to have led "such a hardworking and dedicated organisation", while the county's police and crime commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa said he had "made a significant contribution to policing and the public over the course of his 32-year career".

    Two teachers at Murray Park Community School in Mickleover started making their own personal protection equipment (PPE) weeks ago, and appealed to BBC Radio Derby listeners for businesses to donate materials.

    And donate people did, now more than 300 visors - which can be cleaned and reused - have been made and handed out to care homes in the county.

    One of those places was Castle Park Care Home, on Siddals Road in Derby, and manager Denise Brownlee said the work will make "a lot of difference".

    This post box in Syston is no stranger to being yarn-bombed, so it's probably not a surprise to see that the 75th anniversary of World War Two's end has been marked.

    The post box on High Street is often decorated to celebrate events like Christmas, Mother's Day and Easter.

    However, the identity of the person making the woolly accessories is a mystery.

    For VE Day on Friday, it has been decorated with a tribute to Captain Tom Moore and features a Spitfire plane.

    Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to after more than £400 of items were stolen from a supermarket.

    Derbyshire Police said the goods were taken from Tesco in Clowne between 10:00 and 10:20 on Wednesday 11 March.

    The force has asked anyone who recognises the man or has any information to get in touch on 101.
