The government is to force all schools in England to become academies - ending the role of local authorities like Lincolnshire County Council in providing education.
The proposals will be outlined in the Budget by Chancellor George Osborne tomorrow.

A careers guidance and welfare service could disappear with the loss of 52 jobs it's being claimed.
Lincolnshire County Council is proposing to dissolve its education support department. The authority says schools could buy in the same kind of services from other providers.
But Gavyn Graham of the Lincolnshire branch of Unison says jobs will be lost and pupils will miss out.

The council says it will provide more support on the internet and that schools could buy in the same kind of services from other providers.

Iron manager Nick Daws has stated that Scott Wiseman may be out for the rest of the season whilst he recovers from surgery to remove a bone growth.

Hundreds of people have signed a petition calling for Ashfield District Council in Nottinghamshire to lift a ban on the controversial comedian appearing at one of it's venues.
Image source, AlamyThe comic, who lives in Lincolnshire and is well known for his regular appearances at venues in Skegness was due to appear at Festival hall in Kirkby this October.
However the council cancelled the show as they felt his material was not "appropriate".

A man who committed sex offences in Lincolnshire has been given a 15-year jail sentence.
Arthur Baddiley of North Hykeham, was convicted of 12 charges of gross indecency, incitement to commit acts of gross indecency and indecent assaults on children.
The crimes happened between 1986 and 1994 in the Cornwall and Lincoln areas.

Police say that just before 10:30am today three men wearing balaclavas and white boiler type suits went in to the jewellers before making off with a quantity of high value merchandise.
No one's been injured and the men were seen getting into a grey Mazda, which was later found abandoned by police.

British transport police are appealing for witnesses who saw football fans chanting racist language on a train from Sheffield to Lincoln.
It happened between 8:00pm and 8:30pm on Saturday, 5 March.
The train was full of families.
This is one of the fans police want to speak to caught on CCTV.
