  13. Grimsby Town striker not staying with the clubpublished at 09:01 British Summer Time 20 June 2016

    Mike White
    Sports Reporter BBC Radio Humberside

Grimsby Town are set to lose Padraig Amond to League Two rivals Hartlepool United, the BBC has learned.

    Padraig Amond

This is certain to be a stinging blow for the Mariners with Amond expected to undergo a medical today with Hartlepool.

As I understand it, Amond was only offered a one-year deal to stay at the club with the north-east club offering two.

Having also lost Toto Nsiala to Hartlepool, plus Richard Tait and Nathan Arnold expected to depart, this hasn't been the best of summers so far for Town boss Paul Hurst.

However, on the positive front, I'm hearing former Scunthorpe defender Andrew Boyce is close to agreeing a move to Blundell Park. Having impressed in previous loan spells, I'm told a deal could be in the offing as early as this week.

Not looking too bad for the most part this morning, however we do have a problem in the very south of the county on the border with Cambridgeshire.

There's an overturned vehicle near the B1167 on French Drove in Thorney. Avoid if you can.
