The unit at Grantham and District Hospital closed for the first time last night, in a trial which bosses said was needed due to a lack of doctors.

Nine people have fallen foul of the City of Lincoln Council’s littering crackdown after failing to clean up after themselves.
Magistrates issued fines of up to £392 to nine people who had failed to pay Fixed Penalty Notices after being caught dropping cigarette butts in the city centre earlier this year.
The council says in one case, the litterer was standing just 1m from a street ash tray.
Seven people were found guilty in their absence at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court yesterday while two admitted to the offences ahead of the hearing.
