  2. Police appeal after student assaultpublished at 10:47 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    A 16-year-old boy was punched and threatened after he refused to hand over money to an attacker in Grimsby, according to police.

    The teenager was at the junction of Weelsby Road and Farebrother Street at about 11:00 on Friday as he walked to college when the attack happened.

    Lincolnshire's next chief constable could be recruited from as far a field as America or New Zealand.

    That's according to the county's Police and Crime Commissioner Marc Jones, external and comes after the current chief constable, Neil Rhodes, announced he will retire in February next year.

    Mr Rhodes' job will be advertised today - but he's told BBC Radio LIncolnshire he would be "really disappointed and surprised" if the job didn't go to someone "closer to home".

    A man from Spalding has been found guilty of defamation and computer crimes in Thailand.

    Andy Hall was taken to a Thai court after writing part of a critical report about working conditions in the country's fruit industry   

    He was told he could be facing time behind bars, but instead has been given a three-year suspended jail term and was fined 150,000 baht - the equivalent of £3,300.
