    It's Lincolnshire Day this Saturday, flags are already fluttering all over the county. 

    Newton Newton is one of only five traditional flag manufacturers in the country, based at Burgh-le-Marsh.

    Beach huts at Mablethorpe and Sutton On Sea are to be revitalised. 

    East Lindsey District Council has agreed a programme of refurbishment and redevelopment - with the cost match-funded by local groups.

    The story that's really captured your imagination today is the scene of destruction left behind after a botched ram raid.

    Here's what we know so far:

    • Police believe it happened at about 03:20 this morning 
    • Thieves were attempting to rip out an ATM machine but failed to make off with any cash
    • The offenders left the scene in a dark 4x4 flat bed vehicle and a dark blue saloon car 
    • The Co-Op are planning to bring a pop up store to the village tomorrow
    • 18 staff worked there, they'll either work at the pop up store or at other branches temporarily

    Scunthorpe United midfielder Sam Mantom's hoping to keep his place in the side at Bury on Saturday, having helped them beat his old club Walsall on Tuesday.

  18. Scunthorpe steelworks: Some factspublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 29 September 2016

    The company British Steel that launched 100 days ago says it's on track to return to profit for the financial year ending 31 March 2017.

    Did you know:

    • 4.5m tonnes - the annual capacity of Scunthorpe - is enough to build 615 Eiffel Towers or 80 Empire State Buildings.
    • The Scunthorpe site is more than 2,200 acres and has more than 100 miles of its own rail network.
    • The lengths of rail they make for Network Rail are up to 216 metres long.
    • The four blast furnaces on site are named after past queens, Mary, Bess, Anne and Victoria.

    A number of men's wedding rings have been stolen from a car in Harlaxton near Grantham. 

    It happened some time over Monday night and Tuesday morning.

    The jewellery is unique as they have a dual hallmark for mixed metals - many also show a small unicorn on the hallmark. 

    The rings were stolen without boxes and were not in trays, so it is thought they could be offered to local residents loose.
