Lincs police boss calls for early vaccine for officerspublished at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2021
One of Lincolnshire's top police officers says her team should get the coronavirus vaccine soon.
Assistant Ch Con Kerrin Wilson says she understands there are lots of other key workers out there, but the force also needs to be able to keep doing its job.
She adds that unlike shops, the police force can't just close:
Quote MessageI do get that there are lots of other key workers out there, but if a shop shuts because they've go no staff because they've got Covid, then the shop is shut. We can't shut the police force down because I haven't got the staff to come out there and save lives, and that's the challenge I would put back to government when they're looking at that priority list."
