Clair Raybould, director of operations at Lincolnshire’s Clinical Commissioning Group, said: "We still need to maintain strong infection prevention control as individuals, but also across all of our services and we have also been asked to plan for a potential third wave.

"Although not of the magnitude of previous waves, that is still part of our planning and that sits alongside our recovery plans as well."

Officers were called to Rutland Street in Grimsby at about 18:40 on Saturday where the 36-year-old man was found with wounds to his head.

The victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition but died yesterday, according to Humberside Police.

Two men have since been charged with murder following the incident and are due to appear at Grimsby Magistrates' Court later today, police said.

Det Ch Insp Christine Calvert said: “Although this was an isolated incident between individuals known to each other, we appreciate such a tragic incident of this nature has caused shock to the local community.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time."

Geoffrey Broome, who had a previous caution for spanking a boy, is jailed for four years.

A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of murder after Adam Krozolinowski was found with stab wounds outside a property on Freeman Street, shortly before 20:15 on Saturday, according to Humberside Police.

His wife, Anna Krozolinowski of Duncombe Street, has been charged with murder and is due to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court today, police said.

One man has been released with no further police action, officers confirmed.

A force spokesman said the stabbing was believed to be an "isolated incident".
