  1. Police appeal after Grimsby assaultpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2021

    Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault which left a man with fractured ribs and cuts to his hands.

    Officers say the victim reported that the incident took place at around 23:00 on Sunday 7 February around Salacon Way off Cleethorpe Road in Grimsby.

    He said that he and two friends were walking on Cleethorpe Road when they were approached by three men who chased the trio.

    The victim's two friends managed to get away but the victim was caught and was subjected to an attack with what he describes as knives and metal bars.

    Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

    All of Lincolnshire's coronavirus vaccination centres are open today despite the weather.

    Lincolnshire's Public Health says people should try to get there if they can do safely.

    If they can't they should let the centre, or place where they booked their appointment, know.

    Snow and ice are causing problems for motorists in Lincolnshire this morning.

    The A15 is closed from Lincoln to Hemswell Cliff because of a jack-knifed lorry.

    Snow and a jack-knifed lorry have blocked the A15 Sleaford Road between Aslackby and Folkingham.

    The A153 Horncastle Road is closed between Horncastle and Louth because of snow.

    Police say there are hazardous driving conditions on Lincolnshire's roads after heavy snow.

    There's been more than 30 crashes since 07:00.

    Lincolnshire Police thanked the Lincolnshire Community Assistance Team and their 4x4s for helping out drivers stuck in the snow.

    Heavy snow is forecast for Lincolnshire, with severe weather warnings in force.

    An amber warning for snow - meaning travel disruption and power cuts are likely - is in place across central and northern parts of the region until 14:00 on Monday.

    A yellow weather warning - meaning possible travel disruption - is in place across the remainder of Lincolnshire.

    There could also be as much as 15cm in parts of the East Midlands and Yorkshire and Humber, particularly over the Lincolnshire Wolds.
