Whitewebbs Lane in Enfield, north London, is closed due to a fire which began this morning in a pallet yard. 

But the M25, near to the site of the road, is looking clear between J24 and J25 where smoke was reportedly blowing across the road earlier. 

Firefighters are moving 30 propane cylinders from the site of the blaze in Enfield in a wooden pallet yard near the M25.

The fire is ongoing and smoke is spreading across the motorway between junction 24 and 25.

Heavy traffic is queuing on the A102 northbound in Greenwich at the Blackwall Tunnel junction because of an earlier broken down vehicle.

Journeys through the area are taking around 50 minutes.

Smoke is spreading across the M25 as a result of a blaze at a yard in north London, London Fire Brigade says.

The fire, which is being tackled by 72 firefighters, began in Whitewebbs Lane in Enfield, north London, at about 02:00 GMT.

A signal failure at Baker Street is causing severe delays to the whole of the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines, and parts of the District and Metropolitan lines.

There is also severe delays on the London Overground between Gospel Oak and Barking because of a signal failure at Harringey Green Lanes.
