Dame Margaret Hodge and Ann Coffey confirmed the move in a letter to the Parliamentary Labour Party (PLP) chairman.
The motion has no formal constitutional force but calls for a discussion at their next PLP meeting on Monday.
It will be up to the PLP chairman to decide whether it is debated. If accepted it would be followed by a secret ballot of Labour MPs on Tuesday.

CCTV has been released after a 23-year-old man was punched in the face and knocked unconscious, external outside Barclays Bank in High Street North, Newham in the early hours of Sunday 5 June.
He had visited a cash point when he was approached by a man who started to shout at him. The victim shouted back but was immediately confronted by a second taller man who punched him in the face.
The second man then dragged the victim into the foyer of the bank where he was further assaulted.
One suspect is described as of Mediterranean or South European appearance, approximately 6ft 2ins tall and was wearing a dark coloured top with a light colour across his shoulders.
Suspect two is also described as of Mediterranean or South European appearance, approximately 5ft 6ins tall and was wearing a black baseball cap, dark coloured top and dark jeans with white trainers.

There is queuing traffic on A102 Blackwall Tunnel northbound in Greenwich from the A2203 Blackwall Lane junction to the A13 East India Dock Road junction, because of an earlier broken down vehicle. All lanes have been re-opened and congestion is stretching to the Sun In The Sands Roundabout.

Businesses can't vote. All they can do is raise their voice and they did try. Memos to staff, letters to newspapers, industry surveys all shouting about the risks of Brexit - all fell on deaf ears. The implicit warnings about trade, investment and jobs did not convince voters that their interests were best served by staying in the EU.
The Remain campaign hoped that a last minute armada of 1,200 businesses from Asda to Vodafone assembled in the pages of the Times might persuade workers that their employer's priorities were their priorities. It didn't.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to deal with a fire in a factory on Constable Crescent in Tottenham this morning.
Part of an industrial oven on the ground floor of a food processing factory was damaged by the fire.
Arriving on scene, crews could see white smoke issuing from the oven vent and quickly put out the fire, which was contained within the cooking appliance.Nobody was injured.
The Brigade was called at 06:01 BST and the fire was under control by 06:45.
Fire crews from Tottenham and Walthamstow fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
