The 18-year-old was found seriously injured on a bench in Abbey Wood station in south-east London at 22:20 yesterday.
British Transport Police (BTP) said the teenagers condition "is believed to be life-threatening".
Detectives believe he sustained his injuries from a crossbow bolt in a "shocking act of violence".
No arrests have been made, BTP said.
