  6. Follow me and 'get the jab done', says PMpublished at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2021

As Prime Minister Boris Johnson prepared to receive his first AstraZeneca vaccine dose today, he urged people to do the same.

It comes as several EU nations, including Germany and France, have pledged to continue their roll-out of the jab following their suspension of its use amid fears it caused blood clots.

Mr Johnson claimed on Thursday that the AstraZeneca jab was safe but "the thing that isn't safe is catching Covid, which is why it is so important that we all get our jabs as soon as our turn comes".

"The way to ensure this [lockdown easing] happens is to get that jab when your turn comes, so let's get the jab done," he said.

  16. Man who 'exposed himself' near vigil wanted by policepublished at 18:16 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2021

Detectives have released a description of a man said to have exposed himself near to where a vigil for Sarah Everard was being held.

It comes after a woman who attended the vigil in Clapham Common said she was ignored when she tried to report the case to police.

Georgina previously told the BBC she tried to speak to a group of police but a male officer told her they had "had enough with the rioters tonight".

The Met say the suspect is believed to be about 50 years old, white and had grey hair. He was wearing a red waistcoat or vest over a shirt and had light coloured trousers.

Det Con Luke Flood said: "Clapham Common was extremely busy on Saturday evening with people who had attended the vigil - many people would have been filming or taking pictures.

"I would ask anyone to check any material they captured and see if they can identify the man described."
