The dispute over a proposed new crematorium for Cromer might have been resolved.
The Westerleigh Group wants to build it next to the town's cemetery on Holt Road, but was were opposed in court by the AONB Action Group which was concerned about the effect on the local Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme is investigating the deaths of the sperm whales, external which became stranded in The Wash over the weekend.
Data from the CSIP shows there were 66 whales of at least 11 different species stranded in the UK in 2014.
Investigations carried out into the deaths of 16 of those stranded showed eight were stranded alive but subsequently died, six died from infections and two had suffered "physical trauma."

With an estimated length of 30ft (9.14m) the whale that washed ashore at Hunstanton on Friday night falls far short of being the biggest found in the UK.
In 2014, a 50ft 2in (15.3m) dead male sperm whale was discovered on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. A post-mortem examination found it died of "lack of recent feeding.".
The Hunstanton whale is believed to belong to the same pod as four others found dead in Lincolnshire. Dr Peter Evans of the Sea Watch Foundation, says "whales normally keep in strong contact with one another by sonar....it's possible they've responded to distress signals from one other, leading to part of the group stranding together."

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was attacked by a dog in Eccles-on-Sea.
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon on the sand ramp at the end of the beach road. The victim suffered heavy bruising and a puncture to her right arm.
The dog, described as a tan brown-coloured Pitbull-type, wearing a thick leather harness with silver-coloured studs. It responded to the name Diesel when called by its owner.

Stars of the new Dad's Army film are preparing for its world premiere at Leicester Square tonight.
Unlike the long-running BBC television sitcom, which used locations in and around Thetford, the movie was filmed in the Yorkshire seaside town of Bridlington.
Stewart Wright, chairman of the Dad's Army Museum in Thetford, external, says Bridlington will benefit from the film but "Thetford is the real Walmington-on-Sea." The museum has some props from the film which will go on display in the spring.

An increase in staff sickness and a high number of vacancies has meant a "significant challenge" for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, external in King's Lynn to maintain enough nurses on the wards.
A new report to the board of directors also shows there are fewer agency nurses to fill the shifts. The King's Lynn hospital is trying to recruit more consultants to fill 13 vacancies out of 36 posts.
Chief executive Dorothy Hosein says she wants to "assure patients that they're doing everything they can to ensure services are safe."

Sightseers have been heading to Hunstanton beach since a whale washed ashore and died four days ago.
The sperm whale is believed to belong to the same pod as four others found dead in Lincolnshire.
The most recent figures, external for the number of whales stranded on UK's beaches show 66 for 2014, with seven of them sperm whales. Dr Peter Evans, director of Sea Watch Foundation, external, says sperm whales can get stranded as they swim in groups.

A court date has been set for three companies and one individual charged with safety offences over the deaths of four Suffolk men killed when a steel structure collapsed on them in Great Yarmouth in January 2011.
Claxton Engineering Services, Encompass Project Management, its director David Groucott and Hazegood Construction have all been charged under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974.
They have been summoned to appear before Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court in 2 February.

The Health and Safety Executive, external has charged three companies and one man with safety offences over the deaths of four Suffolk men killed when a steel structure collapsed on them in Great Yarmouth.
Daniel Hazelton, 30, his brother Thomas Hazelton, 26, and Peter Johnson, 42, all from Stanton, near Bury St Edmunds; and Adam Taylor, 28, of Rickinghall, Suffolk, were killed at Claxton Engineering Services' yard on 21 January 2011.

West Norfolk council is urging people to keep their distance from the body of the sperm whale, external on Hunstanton beach, as the carcass will start to decompose quite quickly.

They say "every dog has his day" and Dave had his yesterday.
Image source, Norfolk Fire ServiceNorfolk firefighters were called to Ten Mile Bank, where Dave was trapped in the water, cold, wet and cowering.
Firefighters Karl Hain and Kevin Peat used their raft to bring him to safety and kept him inside their warm fire engine until his owners arrived. Dave is now safely back at home in Southery, as happy as a dog with two tails.

Norfolk police have confirmed they are taking no further action following an investigation into reports a girl was assaulted by a member of staff at a secure hospital and school.
A girl was allegedly kicked in the back at Ellingham Hospital, in Attleborough.
The site has 30 beds, and a school for 12- to 18-year-olds with behavioural or psychological difficulties. No arrests have been made.
The infamous Burston School strike, external, which became the longest-running in British history, is set to be immortalised when its story is told on the big screen.
