    A burst water main has caused a number of travel problems for people in Great Yarmouth.

    Engineers from Essex and Suffolk Water are working to repair the pipes which burst overnight.

    Stargazers were treated to a dazzling display of the Northern Lights as the Aurora Borealis painted the night sky over Norfolk last night.

    A group of people in North Walsham say they're starting to make the town more appealing. 

    Regenerate North Walsham, external is using private funding from local businesses to try to bring more trade and visitors in.

    Rob Scammell from the group says it wants the town to be as successful as places like Holt, and a new museum and heritage centre opening in June will showcase the history of the town.

    Norfolk triathlete Kim Morrison has won her first event since turning professional.

    She finished nine seconds clear of American Dede Griesbauer at the Ironman 70.3 Buenos Aires.

    The aurora borealis - Northern Lights - were visible from parts of Norfolk last night.

    This great picture, which you can also see at the top of our live feed today, shows the skies over Happisburgh Lighthouse and was sent to us by James Rowley-Hill.

  7. Latest on flooding on Great Yarmouth's South Quaypublished at 10:42 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2016

    South Quay in Great Yarmouth is likely to be closed for several more hours after a water main burst overnight.

    Norfolk Fire Service and engineers from Essex and Suffolk Water are on the scene.

    It was initially thought a pumping station had failed, and raw sewage was coming up through the drains, but the fire service says it is pumping out surface water.

    Passengers on Abellio Greater Anglia trains between King's Lynn and Ely are facing delays of up to 40 minutes, because of a signalling problem between Downham Market and Littleport.

    Parents have set up parking patrols to report drivers who park dangerously outside the Angel Road Infant, external and Junior, external schools in Norwich.

    Michelle Shepherd is one of the parents monitoring the situation and passing registration numbers on to the police.

    She says the parking had become "absolutely atrocious in the past six months or so" and "something needs to be done before someone gets hurt".

  11. Couple assaulted by burglarspublished at 09:40 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2016

    Police are appealing for information following a robbery at a house in south Norfolk where the occupants were assaulted.

    The incident took place shortly after 20:30 on Saturday, at an address in Flowerpot Lane, Long Stratton.

    Three suspects entered a property and threatened and assaulted the couple before stealing money.

    South Quay in Great Yarmouth remains closed, with heavy traffic in both directions between Haven Bridge and the Yarmouth Way junction, because of a pumping station failure.

    Earlier we reported that raw sewage was coming up through the drains, but the fire service has just told us that this is not the case and that they are pumping out surface water.

    South Quay in Great Yarmouth is flooded and closed to traffic, after a pumping station failed overnight.

    I've been told by the fire service's incident commander that raw sewage in the water is coming up through the drains, and a fire engine is pumping a jet of water into the River Yare trying to clear the mess.

    The cause of the failure isn't yet known, but UK Power Networks and Essex and Suffolk Water are by the pumping station near to the Haven Bridge.

    After an icy start, today will be mostly dry with bright or sunny spells. There'll be a few showers, turning wintry at times.  

    Maximum temperature: 5C (41F).

    Any showers will clear this evening, leaving a dry night. Temperatures will fall to -1C (30F), allowing widespread frost and icy patches to develop.
