'Take care at the beach' warns coastguardpublished at 08:31 British Summer Time 25 June 2020
As the hot weather is set to continue for the rest of the week, a warning has been given to people who want to visit the beach.
HM Coastguard Bacton, external, in Norfolk, said it wanted everyone to "enjoy the sunshine" but for people to take "extra care".
It suggests taking a fully-charged mobile phone, drinking plenty of water, applying suncream and to remember to socially distance "as it's easy to forget when you're having fun".
"Stay in touch with friends and family while you’re there. Tell each other where you’re going," it said.
"It’s really important that everyone looks after each other as well as themselves when at the beach.
"Please don't swim alone, don’t take inflatables into the sea and keep a close eye on friends and family.
"Not every beach is lifeguarded at the moment."
