    As the hot weather is set to continue for the rest of the week, a warning has been given to people who want to visit the beach.

    HM Coastguard Bacton, external, in Norfolk, said it wanted everyone to "enjoy the sunshine" but for people to take "extra care".

    It suggests taking a fully-charged mobile phone, drinking plenty of water, applying suncream and to remember to socially distance "as it's easy to forget when you're having fun".

    "Stay in touch with friends and family while you’re there. Tell each other where you’re going," it said.

    "It’s really important that everyone looks after each other as well as themselves when at the beach.

    "Please don't swim alone, don’t take inflatables into the sea and keep a close eye on friends and family.

    "Not every beach is lifeguarded at the moment."

    Instead of the normal LGBT+ gathering in the city centre, organisers are planning to take the celebrations online, as well as encouraging people to rainbow up their houses, streets and workplaces.

    Jo Caulfield, chairperson of Norwich Pride, said: "Over the years Norwich Pride has been hugely successful in getting shops, businesses and civic buildings in the city centre to fly the rainbow flag.

    To create the virtual march, Norwich Pride is asking people to send in, external rainbow films, photos and messages by 10 July.

    "We want to keep that fabulous party atmosphere that we all conjure in Chapelfield Gardens. We want everyone to celebrate all the talent we have in our city. Dance, song, magic, spoken word, music, hooping… what would you like to contribute towards our show?" it said.

    The Pride Show will be streamed from 14:00 on 25 July.

    Intu, which owns some of the UK's biggest shopping centres, has appointed administrators as a "contingency" in case financial rescue talks fail.

    In March, the owner of company that runs Lakeside in Essex, Chapelfield in Norwich, and centres in Watford and Milton Keynes, said it was in talks with lenders about new funding.

    Intu had been struggling before coronavirus to fill outlets at some of its sites, and had heavy debts.

    Intu said "notwithstanding the progress made" it had appointed KPMG to plan for administration.

    The firm's financial woes include making a loss of £2bn in 2019, failing earlier this year to raise £1bn in new funding, and having debts of £5bn.

    Five people were rescued from Scolt Head Island on the north Norfolk coast yesterday when they were cut off by the rising tide.

    Hunstanton's Coastguard Rescue Team was called out just after 17:00 and found two women and three men marooned on the island, near Brancaster.

    A spokesman said they were picked up by hovercraft and "dropped ashore".

    "We then gave safety advice," he added.
