The Norfolk village of Hemsby knows only too well how devastating extreme weather can be.

Coastal erosion has seen homes fall into the sea in recent years and has left others teetering on the edge.

Five at-risk homes were demolished in March and there was further erosion there only last weekend.

The MP who represents the village denied claims that residents were being abandoned after a sea defence scheme was scrapped.

Conservative MP for Great Yarmouth, Sir Brandon Lewis, along with local authorities, said earlier this week that Hemsby did not qualify for "sufficient government funding" to allow sea defences to progress.

The high tide is expected in Hemsby at 11:21 BST.
