    Without the Barwell family who knows where Northampton Saints would be, so it's absolutely appropriate that the new stand is named after them.

    That name could have been sold for a lot of money, it's the way many clubs go - they sell the naming rights - but the club have taken the hit financially to pay tribute to this family.

    Sir Clive Woodward, who coached England the World Cup in 2003, has written about the departure of Sam Burgess, external from Bath back to Rugby League for the Daily Mail.

    But on social media he has apologised to Northampton Saints centre Luther Burrell who many felt missed out on a World Cup spot to Burgess.

  4. Core Theatre in Corby celebrates fifth birthdaypublished at 08:55

    Northamptonshire's newest theatre, The Core at Corby Cube, is holding an "open house" tomorrow with a number of activities and backstage tours to mark it's fifth birthday.

    Since opening its doors in November 2010 the venue has welcomed more than 185,000 audience members.

  5. Northampton Saints new Barwell Stand set to open at the weekendpublished at 08:40

    The Barwell Stand will open to Northampton Saints fans for the first time tomorrow, created after the Sturtridge Pavilion at the north end of Franklin's Gardens closed on the 26 May.

    The new stand is named after the Barwell family, whose leadership and investment, led by Keith Barwell and his late son Leon, took the club from the amateur to the professional era.

  6. Northampton nightclub crush inquest: Minute's silence to be held todaypublished at 08:30

    There will be a minutes silence at the inquest today into the deaths of two students at a Northampton nightclub in October 2011.

    On of the students, Laurene-Danielle Jackson, 19, died in hospital nearly three weeks after the incident on 6 November.

    The coroner has said the silence will be observed today on the fourth anniversary of her death.
