  2. Councils wage war on fly-tippingpublished at 10:16 British Summer Time 18 September 2017

Council tax payers in Corby paid more than £80,000 last year to dispose of fly-tipped waste.

The borough council says it dealt with 1,750 incidents of rubbish being left irresponsibly in 2016.

"We do have officers that search the waste to try and find material that traces it back to a source," council spokesman Andrew Samson said.

He added: "We're also very reliant on information from residents."

More than 1100 clear-up operations took place in Daventry according to the council, including the dumping of asbestos.
