    Pradeep Seth from Nuthall contacted BBC Radio Nottingham after he said he captured CCTV footage of someone trying to break into his van outside his home, but claimed police were not interested.

    He said it was "disappointing" they didn't want to see his CCTV and said he had not received a "satisfying reply" from officers.

    Police did in fact visit him two days later.

    If you're a victim of car crime, Nottinghamshire Police say they won't come out now unless there are "exceptional reasons". 

    The force says vehicle crime has fallen in recent years thanks to better security and their scarce resources, they could be better deployed elsewhere.

    He's been told by a family court sitting in Nottingham to pay his estranged wife £830,000.

    Nottingham City Council said they had listened to the views of various groups about their proposals for the junction at Station Street.

    Councillor Nick McDonald said: "We took on board some suggestions, and have included tactile paving to delineate the road space for those with visual impairments.

    “Clearly, we wouldn’t implement a scheme which we thought was unsafe, and although it is a relatively new concept in Britain, shared spaces like this are common in cities around the world where they work safely for all.”

    Lisa James, who is registered blind, uses a guide dog and she says the absence if a curb is confusing for Kiki,

    "The absence of a curb means you have a continuous safe surface to walk on and the dog think its safe."

    She added: "The curbs are your dividing line between the traffic and the safety zone of the pavement."

    Nottingham Rugby Club face London Irish tonight at Lady Bay in the Championship.

    Irish were relegated from the premiership last season but have won their first four games and are favourites to go straight back up again this season.

    Glen Delaney who used to coach both sides says it will be a "fantastic occasion."

    Visual impairment charity, My Sight Nottinghamshire, are not impressed with the shared space at the junction with Trent Street and Station Street, which has had the curb removed and can be used by pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles.

    Julie, from the charity, is registered blind and says the council ignored their concerns about the new layout that were raised back in April.

    "The station is a gateway to the city," she said. "And if disabled people don't feel safe in this area, they won't come to this city and I think that is a real shame."

    Rail services to and from Nottingham and Derby as well as Nottingham and Newark will be affected this weekend because of engineering works, external.

    East Midlands Trains says services to and from London will also not call at Beeston and will leave Nottingham earlier than scheduled.

    A 10th Ryder Cup appearance awaits Nottinghamshire golfer Lee Westwood later today, as Europe face the USA at Hazeltine Golf Club in Minnesota.

    Westwood has been on the winning time seven times in nine appearances, but the Americans are rated as favourites to win the event this year.

    First it was “on time and on budget” – then Nottingham City Council told us the new pedestrianised Station Street would be finished by “the end of September”. 

    But we’ve learned this morning the project is over-running YET AGAIN.  

    The council hopes the work will now be finished “this weekend”.

    But the area has been criticised by a local disability charity.
