Perhaps somewhat unsurprisingly, Green Party town councillor Kat Boettge isn't convinced about the case for cutting down the trees.

    Kat Boettge

"So far all the council has given us is generic reasons [why the trees have to be felled]," she told BBC East Midlands Today.

"They said it's to help wildlife and diversity but that's too simplistic."

  3. Tree cutting 'will allow woodland to develop evenly'published at 12:07 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2017

The land in question is actually classed as an "open space" - a park to you and me.

Broxtowe Borough Council has said the plans to chop down the trees will ensure the woodland develops evenly.

But although people who live by are happy for them to be cut down, an online petition which has attracted more than 150 signatures has suggested they should be left alone.

Around 40 are set to be cut down in Hall Om Wong park in Kimberley.

  5. Analysis: 'Shambolic' Forest's busy weekendpublished at 11:35 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2017

The collapse of the takeover was a little bit of a shock but the sacking of Phillipe Montanier was the only thing that happened this weekend that wasn't a surprise.

It is not a surprise given they'd gone eight games without a win, three games without a goal, two points from the last 21 in the league and an FA Cup defeat.

I think what did for Montanier was last week's game at Wigan in which Forest really were shambolic plus the chairman discovered  he was going to be carrying on as the 100% owner.

That then paved the way for the head coach to be removed as Fawaz has proved not to be a patient chairman.

  9. Black market drug dealers 'defrauding the NHS'published at 09:52 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2017

    BBC Inside Out

Community Pharmacist Jyoti Saini admitted she was "shocked" when she saw the secret footage of the NHS prescription drugs being sold  illegally.

"To sell them [the drugs] on for a financial gain is defrauding the NHS," she told BBC Inside Out.

"It is defrauding everybody because the NHS is for all of us and it is an illegal thing to do."

It's difficult to gauge the extent of this black market trade in NHS prescriptions.

NHS Protect - the dedicated crime unit - couldn't provide an estimate.

But given the ease with which I was able to find and purchase prescriptions from patients, the anecdotal evidence points to it being widespread.

The NHS Choices website, external states that The Medicines Act 1968 defines three legal categories of medicines - general sales list medicines, pharmacy medicines and prescription-only medicines.

Under this act, most medicines can only be sold or supplied against a prescription at a pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacist.
