    Ian Barlett, from Clifton, who has recovered from his gambling addiction, has said the machines destroyed his life.   

    "I started small by betting £2 a spin which was on roulette," he told BBC Radio Nottingham. 

    "That quickly escalated to £100 a spin and that is how quickly they got hold of me and I had thoughts of suicide because of the huge amounts of debt."

    A Nottingham man who contemplated suicide over his gambling addiction is backing calls to reduce the maximum stake at some betting terminals from £100 to £2.

    Ian Bartlett from Clifton lost over £10,000 in three months on the machines, where you can play games such as blackjack and roulette.
