BBC Local LiveIan Barlett, from Clifton, who has recovered from his gambling addiction, has said the machines destroyed his life.
"I started small by betting £2 a spin which was on roulette," he told BBC Radio Nottingham.
"That quickly escalated to £100 a spin and that is how quickly they got hold of me and I had thoughts of suicide because of the huge amounts of debt."
