    Former Derby County and Nottingham Forest boss Steve McClaren could be set to take charge of Leeds United.

    The Yorkshire club sacked manager Thomas Christiansen at the weekend after eight months in the role.

    BBC Radio Leeds said McClaren is among the names in the frame to replace him, having been spotted at Elland Road on Saturday.

    A fourth man is due in court today in connection with the death of Ramniklal Jogiya.

    The body of the Leicester jeweller was discovered on Gaulby Lane in Stoughton on 25 January after he disappeared from near his shop.

    Over the weekend police charged 29-year-old Javon Roach, from Norwich Road in Leicester, with kidnap and robbery. Three other men have already been charged with the same offences.

    So far four people have been arrested on suspicion of Mr Jogiya's murder but none have been charged.

    A Derby chip shop was found to have "dirty and cluttered" work surfaces and a wash basin which had its hot water turned off when food hygiene inspectors visited, external.

    Nottingham cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason has reached the top 20 of the UK Album Charts with his debut release, Inspiration.

    The teenager, who rose to prominence when he was named BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2016, outsold efforts by Noel and Liam Gallagher, to claim the number 18 spot.

    The album is mostly made up of classical pieces but also includes Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry.

    All 10 locks have been drained at Foxton Locks in Market Harborough for the first time in a decade to allow solid oak lock gates to be repaired.

    Miles of canal water are held back at the bottom and top of the locks by planks of wood, as shown in the photo.

    If you visit in the open days on 10/11 Feb you can walk down scaffold steps into the locks.

    If you go, do take time to speak to the Canal and River Trust staff many of whom grew up in traditional boating families either on working canal boats or in lock-keepers cottages.

    Derby's Liberal Democrats say extending the city's park-and-ride schemes could help solve its congestion and air quality problems.

    Derby is among a number of English cities highlighted by the government as having particularly poor air quality.

    Currently, people who want to park their cars outside the city centre and travel in by bus can do so at Pride Park and the Meteor Centre.

    The city council says the current scheme is well used but it has no plans to expand it.

    A statue of Leicester suffragette Alice Hawkins was unveiled in the city's Market Square yesterday.

    Around 1,000 people - including Leicester MP Liz Kendall - turned out for the event, which coincided with the centenary of the 1918 act that gave men and women equal rights to vote.

    The celebrations included a march from Leicester's Secular Hall and a re-enactment of an Alice Hawkins soapbox speech.

    A man is recovering after being stabbed during an altercation that followed a three-vehicle crash in Bulwell yesterday afternoon, external.

    Notts Police said four men were involved in the row in St Alban's Road just after 12:00.

    The injured man was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

    A 28-year-old remains in custody after being arrested on suspicion of affray.

    A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in a park in Sandiacre.

    The teenager was attacked in Springfield Park following reports of clashes between young people from the town and other youths from Long Eaton.

    He was taken to hospital and has since been released.

    The 17-year-old was detained on suspicion of wounding and released while investigations continue.

    A 23-year-old woman has been arrested after a man died in a house fire in Hinckley on Sunday.

    The 30-year-old was rescued from the blaze in Trinity Lane but died later.

    The woman remains in custody. Police have appealed for witnesses.

    Workers at Loughborough engineering company Brush are returning to work this morning after it was announced last week almost 300 jobs could go.

    The company has said it may have to shed more than half of its workforce after a big drop in sales of its power generators.

    The town's MP Nicky Morgan says her thoughts are with those facing redundancy.

    She said: "They're highly skilled, highly trained, very experienced, but of course there's a huge emotional shock.

    "That's where I think the support of the local town comes in. I hope everyone working there knows the whole of Loughborough is on the workforce's side."
